Zandile Khumalo concludes testimony at Meyiwa murder trial

JOHANNESBURG - The judge in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial asked Zandile Khumalo to clarify contradictory statements about how events unfolded on the night the soccer star was killed.

Defence lawyers have been poking holes into Khumalo's statements that were made nine years ago.

Judge Ratha Mokgoathleng instructed Khumalo to respond to all questions while she was in the witness box.

"Just a bit of clarification for me, there something that baffles my common sense. If you can explain please do. Advocate Nxumalo I think, Advocate Mshololo, I cant remember with the other two colleagues."

"They put it to you that no two suspects ever entered the house. You heard that? I heard them saying that but my request is that they must prove that."

"Advocate Nxumalo says among [the] seven of you are the ones who killed Senzo. There is no such. No one among us killed Senzo there were intruders and if they believe that then I would request they bring proof that there is no intruder there?"

"The other thing is that when you follow, one time, they say there were no intruders and on the other said they ask me questions saying there were two intruders... So there is just a contradiction," he said.
