World TB Day | Civil society backs national plan

JOHANNESBURG - Monday is World TB Day.

South Africa is planning to reduce it’s TB burden by testing 5 million people over the next 12 months.

South Africa has a significant TB burden as it’s called – particularly among people living with HIV.

56,000 people die of TB every year.

TB Accountability is a consortium of organization fighting the scourge of TB in SA’s public health sector.

TBAC Project Coordinator,  Sihle Mahonga-Ndawonde discussed the plan with eNCA.
