LICHTENBURG, NW - For years the Local Ditsobotla Municipality in the North West has been plagued by political instability leaving residents frustrated by service delivery woes.
However, the municipality now has a new mayor.

Molefe Morutse has been elected as the new mayor, unseating Mazwi Moruri.
Morutse has vowed to prioritise the water, roads and electricity crisis within the municipality.
"We were called here not for power but for service delivery. We are going to make sure we change the face of that municipality," he said.
