Wife says farmer did not intend to run over boy

VREDENDAL, Western Cape - The wife of a man charged with running over a six-year-old boy has told a court he did not intend to harm the child.

Khwezi Jantjies's legs were broken by the car of Christoffel Stoman who accused him of stealing an orange from their farm.

Stoman's wife says they have no idea how little Khwezi wound up under their vehicle.

Stoman, 70, faces two counts of attempted murder, and reckless driving.
