Widow of alleged rhino poaching kingpin killed

MPUMALANGA - The widow of Chief Clyde Mnisi was gunned down in her home outside Hazyview in Mpumalanga.

Charlene Mathews was murdered on Tuesday.

Two other family members also suffered gunshot wounds but are being treated in hospital.

Mnisi was assassinated last month.

He was suspected of being part of a poaching syndicate in the Kruger national park area and was due to go on trial this month.

Mpumalanga police say the motive for the killing is still unknown, but links between the murders have not been ruled out.
