The Meta-Owned company said that the change would allow users to correct simple spelling errors or add extra content to a message.

However, the ability to edit a message will only be available for 15 minutes after a message is sent.
Edited messages will display an ‘edited’ icon, letting the receiver know about the correction.
The new feature has started to roll out globally and will be available to all users in the next few weeks.
