CAPE TOWN - Between July and September this year, the Western Cape saw an 8.7% decline in murder compared to the previous year.
Officials say they’re making progress in reducing serious crime in the province, however gang violence continues to be a major concern, with children as young as 12 recruited into gangs.
Some community leaders say the lack of recreational facilities in communities is part of the problem.
