Western Cape farmers want to pull Eskom’s plug

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape farmers are turning to the sun -- they want to pull the plug on Eskom.

They say power cuts are costing them billions.

It’s having dire consequences on food security, job security and economic growth.

The provincial government is holding a two-day energy summit to discuss solutions.

Farmers say they are being forced to lay staff off or put them on reduced working hours.
