Weather forecast | Above-average rainfall in large parts of SA

Severe weather conditions continue to grip parts of the country, with the Weather Service issuing multiple warnings.

According to the South African Weather Service (SAWS) thunderstorms and flooding are expected in Mpumalanga and Limpopo, while extreme heat and fire dangers threaten parts of the Western, Eastern, and Northern Cape.

Meanwhile Weather Service indicates above-normal rainfall in the north-eastern, central and coastal parts of the country over the summer period.

It released its Seasonal Climate Watch for summer into autumn next year.

SAWS forecaster, Langutelani Mathebula, said there's nothing surprising about the summer rainfall season.
