PORT ALFRED - Ferocious and deadly or loving and misunderstood?
The future of Pitbulls in South Africa has been debated following several deadly attacks in recent weeks.
In the most recent incident, a 37-year-old Port Alfred mother of four children was attacked and killed by three Pitbulls.
Zimkhita Gaga was on her way to work when the incident took place.
Pitbulls are banned in several European countries and Australia.
South Africans are divided on the issue.
On one hand, some people want the breed to be banned outright.
On the other, it’s argued that owners hold the responsibility in protecting them – and others – or face the legal, and sometimes fatal, consequences.
