WATCH | Public urged to be alert over thunderstorms, tornadoes

JOHANNESBURG - The South African Weather Service is urging everyone in Gauteng, KZN, Mpumalanga, North West and the Eastern Cape to be on the alert.

Massive hailstorm hits parts of Joburg

This amid warnings of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes from Friday heading into the weekend.

This is just days after some parts of Gauteng were hit by a severe hailstorms.

Senior weather forecaster Vanetia Phakula says, despite this warning, the public should not panic but act cautiously.
