WATCH | Power utility drops a load on Joburg residents

JOHANNESBURG - It’s unclear whether we are heading for a total grid collapse in Johannesburg, but there appear to be troubled times ahead. 

Energy provider, City Power, has implemented load reduction. 

These are peak time rotational power cuts in high density areas including Alexandra, Tshepisong, and Kliptown. 

Other measures have also been put in place to try and address the high consumption.
