JOHANNESBURG - It is the police's word against that of Joburg residents.
Chaos descended in the Joburg CBD after a dead body was found in one of the buildings.
The office of the Gauteng Premier shared a statement by law enforcement agencies.
According to the statement, a suspect collapsed and died while giving police information on drugs at room number 222 at Panama Court.
Residents say this is not true.
They allege police assaulted the suspect, now deceased. This resulted in foreign nationals taking to the streets.
