JOHANNESBURG - A few weeks ago, the Cholera outbreak gripped Hammanskraal. Authorities have yet to pinpoint the source of the bacteria.
Dozens of water samples have been taken across the Tshwane metro but Hammanskraal has been troubled by water problems for many years.
The SA Human Rights Commission says this crisis could've been avoided. It warned years ago of water quality and pollution from the Rooiwal water-treatment plant but was ignored.
Tshwane Mayor Cilliers Brink says there've been irregularities in tenders to repair the plant.
The government says about R4bn is required to fix the wastewater problems.
It's promised residents clean drinking water by March next year.
