WATCH | Eskom 'proposes' up to Stage 16 blackouts

JOHANNESBURG - Eskom says its new national standards document proposes the implementation of power cuts up to Stage 16.

The embattled utility says the Code of Practice for load-shedding suggests blackouts beyond Stage 8 to ensure they meet the peak demand and protect the grid.

The country has now been thrown into Stage 6 power cuts indefinitely.
