JOHANNESBURG - Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille is giving an update on the proposed sponsorship deal between SA Tourism and English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

The deal sparked nationwide controversy when it came to light, with critics questioning the nearly R1-billion it would cost for the contract.

SA Tourism said the deal was meant to promote the country to the overseas tourism market.
