JOHANNESBURG - The DA leader in Gauteng, Solly Msimanga, says some people who voted against Johannesburg Council Speaker Vasco Da Gama, were paid.
The PAC-sponsored motion was favoured by 136 councillors, including those allied to the DA.
The DA governs the City through coalition arrangements with political parties such as ActionSA, the ACDP, Cope, Patriotic Alliance, and the FF Plus.
Msimanga says action will be taken against councillors who have gone against the coalition agreements.
He says the DA hasn't given up on Da Gama as speaker.
