DURBAN - Five suspects were killed in a shootout with police conducting a drug raid in Morningside in Durban.
Police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda said the suspects opened fire when officers arrived at their alleged hideout.
Guns, cash and a large amount of drugs were found inside the flat.

Police Minister Bheki Cele praised the multi-disciplinary team while visiting the scene.
"The police, under the leadership of provincial commissioner Mkhwanazi and the national commissioner, they put a special team, that team is multi-disciplinary team with different components.
"They've been doing a good job, there have been arrests and all that, and they've been on the ground working on this matters."
