JOHANNESBURG - SAPS VIP protection unit officers involved in an incident on the N1 in Johannesburg have been identified.
They were caught on camera allegedly brutally assaulting members of the public.
Police have traced the victims and are in the process of obtaining their statements.
They say an internal departmental investigation is also underway.
Authorities say preliminary reports confirm the vehicles in the video belong to the SAPS.
National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola has condemned the act.
