VBS bank heist | Significance of leaked affidavit questioned

PRETORIA - Convicted VBS fraudster Tshifiwa Matodzi's leaked affidavit has some explosive claims.

But some legal experts say it won’t be able to be used to criminally charge those he mentions.

On Wednesday, Matodzi pleaded guilty to multiple counts of racketeering, theft, fraud and money laundering.

He was sentenced to 15 years in jail as part of the plea deal.

The NPA says the VBS matter’s pre-trial hearing will begin on Monday next week in the High Court in Pretoria.
