US-SA relations | DA wants Thandi Modise fired

CAPE TOWN - The Democratic Alliance says President Cyril Ramaphosa needs to fire Defence Minister Thandi Modise.

That's after the accusations by the United States that South Africa provided ammunition to Russia.

Russia's ambassador to South Africa Reuben Brigety says they have proof that a Russian ship that docked at the Simon's Town naval base in December, left with ammunition. 

The DA says this is a chilling and deeply troubling confirmation that President Ramaphosa and his government are actively involved in the Russian Federation’s war on Ukraine.
