US govt feeds vulnerable Zimbabweans

HARARE - Despite claims of US targeted sanctions harming Zimbabwe's economy, the American government has given Zimbabwe food aid worth over R660-million.

The US says general economic hardship in Zimbabwe, and price increases driven by the Ukraine war, has worsened the plight of the poor.

American officials say the aid will be used to avert starvation in the country's rural regions.
