Urban decay | Joburg far from world-class African city

JOHANNESBURG - It's beyond dispute that the City of Gold has lost its shine.

Buildings in the Central Business District have been hijacked from their rightful owners and there's widespread crime and grime.

Waste covers the streets, traffic lights are out and the safety of residents is not assured.

The MEC for Environment in the City has allocated R22-million in this year’s budget to clean Gauteng.
