DURBAN - The University of KwaZulu-Natal is warning students and parents to be on the lookout for potential scams and fraudsters targeting prospective students.

The scams claim to provide help with regards to acquiring financial assistance, student accommodation, registration and places in academic programmes for a fee.

But the university does not charge for these services.

UKZN says it's also aware that there are unknown individuals claiming to belong to the EFF Student Command who are inviting students to campus in order to assist them with late applications and walk-in registration.

The EFF SC has confirmed that they have no knowledge of the initiative.

The university says all registration processes must be completed online.
