Tshwane wage strike finally over

PRETORIA - The municipal strike in Tshwane has finally ended and services have returned to normal.

The strike lasted just over three months and caused major disruptions and violent clashes.

Services such as waste collection, electricity and water were severely impacted leaving various parts of the city in a state of disrepair.

The city says all employees are back at work and most backlogs have been cleared.

Tshwane Bus Services are also back to full capacity.

The city and labour unions Samwu and Imatu are discussing salary increase disputes facilitated by the CCMA.
