Tshwane mayor denies neglecting townships

JOHANNESBURG - Tshwane Mayor Cilliers Brink is rejecting claims the DA is neglecting townships in the Metro.

He was addressing the National Press Club on the cholera outbreak in Hammanskraal on Friday.

Brink says he is committed to working with ward councillors irrespective of their political views.

"In my less than three months in office i've spent more time inspecting service delivery failures in Atteridgeville, Nellmapius, Soshanguve, Mabopane, Sekhulume and Hammanskraal," says Brink.

"I was mostly accompanied by ward councillors who do not belong to my own party or coalition," he adds.

He says that by far the most councillors in Tshwane are committed to service their communities and i and my team are committed to working with them regardless of opposing political views.
