JOHANNESBURG - The Tshwane ANC says the DA has no legal standing if it tries to reverse Monday's council proceedings which saw ATM's Mncedi Ndzwanana being elected council speaker.
The DA says it's consulting its legal team to urgently challenge the decision by the IEC to disqualify 69 votes as spoilt ballots in the election of the speaker.
But the ANC says the DA is fiddling around with a process that won't yield any results.
The Institute of Election Management System Services says the IEC's decision to declare the papers as spoilt ballots was correct.
The Tshwane Speaker is expected to announce a date for the election of the Executive Mayor soon.
