PRETORIA - A Parliamentary committee is accusing the City of Tshwane of neglecting flood victims in Mamelodi.
It visited hundreds of victims who have been in temporary shelters for months now.
The committee heard that at times, they went without food.

During an earlier committee meeting at the Tshwane Municipal Chamber, committee members accused the metro of not caring about the flood victims.
But the City of Tshwane denies the accusation.
The committee vows not to allow this matter to fall through the cracks.

"The unhygienic and inhumane living conditions here must be addressed," said committee chairperson Cedric Frolick.
"The ablution facility that’s not working must be addressed. And that’s where there needs to be cooperation between the City of Tshwane and the provincial government.”
