Train, scholar transport crash claims three lives in EC

GQEBERHA - The death toll in the scholar transport and train crash in the Eastern Cape has risen to three.

Four pupils are still fighting for their lives in hospital.

Reports indicate the taxi was overloaded at the time of the crash on Thursday.

The taxi driver died at the scene while a first pupil died while being airlifted to Gqeberha.

The Eastern Cape Acting Head of education, Sharon Maasdorp, has issued a stern warning to parents and scholar transport drivers to be extra vigilant.
