Third suspect arrested for Durban metro police murder

DURBAN - An additional suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Durban metro police officer.

Captain Zwelakhe Ntombela was fatally shot when he arrived at his Umlazi home in May.

Hawks members, working with the National Intervention Unit, arrested Mzo Ntombela in July and he was subsequently sentenced to 20 years in prison.

The wife of the murdered officer was also arrested and charged.

The suspects will appear in the Umlazi Magistrate's Court on Monday.
