JOHANNESBURG - Arresting fugitives Thabo Bester and Nandipha Magudumana was a collaborative effort between Interpol and South African law enforcement agencies according to Police Minister Bheki Cele.
He says the rapist and murder, and Magudumana appeared to be planning to leave Tanzania with a Mozambican national.
Cele said, "it was a combination of Interpol, crime intelligence directed here but the people were spotted and it is not very much correct that they were arrested for entering the country illegally. It was found when they were arrested that they entered the country illegally."
"They were found and spotted by the people that are working with South Africa and they were followed as they left the hotel in black SUV and they were heading for the border of the other country, they were leaving Tanzania. Actually they were leaving Dar As Salam and they were followed until they were found in Arushi."
