CAPE TOWN - In a surprise move the state has closed its case in the Nafiz Modack trial.
In response, the defense informed the court that they would be applying for the acquittal of their clients on some of the charges if not all.

Modack and 14 co-accused face a raft of charges including murder and attempted murder,
intimidation and gang related activities as well as money laundering.
These include the murder of Anti-Gang Unit investigator Charl Kinnear and the attempted murder of lawyer William Booth.
