State capture | CASAC slams government’s slow response

JOHANNESBURG - CASAC wants the urgent implementation of the State Capture Commission recommendations.

Chief Justice Raymond Zondo ruffled Parliament's feathers slamming their slow response.

And the Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution agrees.

It says government is also taking too long.

It's been a year since the last volume of the state capture report was handed to President Cyril Ramaphosa,

Executive Secretary of CASAC, Lawson Naidoo, said there's been far too little response from government.

"The president responded to Parliament in October last year setting out government's implementation plan -- a fairly detailed plan that is set out to the nation -- but the actual steps to implement those points have been exceedingly so," Naidoo said.

"The failure to implement is not without its consequences."
