Stage 5 blackouts until further notice

JOHANNESBURG - Eskom has announced that Stage 5 power cuts will continue indefinitely.

The higher Stage of rolling blackouts is likely due to more breakdowns at the country's power stations.

The utility says it will provide an update later on Wednesday.

Some generating units have also been taken offline for planned maintenance.
