Stage 4 blackouts resume

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa is back to stage 4 blackouts.

On Tuesday night Eskom implemented stage six, until 5am on Wednesday.

It said it had to ensure sufficient generation capacity throughout the night, after the breakdown of six generating units.

The utility says dam levels at pumped storage power stations must be replenished so that enough capacity will be available on Wednesday.
