JOHANNESBURG - Sithembiso Sibisi, from the Batho Pele Soweto Forum, says Putco's decision was hasty and disrespectful.
He reckons a lot of people are sitting, broke, because they bought monthly tickets and cannot afford to get to work or make alternate arrangements.
"Putco sent a message at the 12th hour, we feel we're being disrespected," says Sibisi.
Meanwhile, Putco management and Gauteng Transport are in urgent talks.
It follows the bus company hitting the brakes on services due to non-payment of subsidies.
The transporter says it has not been able to procure enough diesel.
Government says the money was paid, albeit it late.
