SONA debate | Lamola hits back at opposition leaders

CAPE TOWN - The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services Ronald Lamola has hit back at opposition leaders.

He was speaking during the second day of the State of The Nation Debate in Parliament on Wednesday.

He says their response to the SONA is a clear and dishonest misrepresentation of the ANC.

"I am very disappointed with honourable Shivambu," he said.

"Almost like honourable Steenhuisen, he quoted his hero PW Botha, he dusted all ANC documents and them as his."

In addition, Lamola says the DA should stop pinning Eskom's woes on ANC cadre deployment.

He says that the power utility is in this state because of corruption.

''The position of DA to attack cadre deployment is consistent with Botha's vision, that black people should not hold strategic leadership positions," he said.
