JOHANNESBURG - A couple has been hit with a large fine in a case of revenge porn.
In a first for South Africa, a husband and wife have been ordered to pay millions in civil damages for videos that were distributed over social media.
The couple harassed the husband’s former girlfriend and distributed explicit videos of her, as well as defamatory emails.
The High Court in Johannesburg awarded the victim R3.5 million in damages on Friday.
