DURBAN - The weather service has issued a Level 5 warning for severe thunderstorms in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
At least 15 municipalities are expected to be impacted.
Cooperative Governance is warning of lightning, localised flooding and infrastructure damage.

It's activated all disaster management teams in the municipalities concerned.
Residents in low-lying areas are being advised to move to safer spaces and stay indoors.
People are also being reminded not to take shelter under trees, telephone poles and power lines.
Motorists are being urged not to travel until the severe weather passes.
