SCOTTBURGH - It’s been over a week since residents took over the Umdoni Municipal offices.
They blocked the gates with sandbags and stopped all services.
The community says the council is not providing water, electricity or housing, and don't respond to residents.
Opposition parties say the leadership of the municipality isn’t forthcoming.

The municipal leadership has since failed to meet with residents.
They did not show up for a meeting that was meant to take place on Wednesday.
eNCA has also tried to reach out to the mayor for comment on the issues but our scheduled interview was cancelled last minute.
Meanwhile, residents say the situation will remain until answers are provided.
