Community leader, Sam Riba says that there is an issue of financial mismanagement. He says that the municipality returned about R146-million back to national treasury which could have been used to address service delivery issues in the area.

Riba said, "the issue here is financial mismanagement."

"We are getting budgets from the municipality, we are not getting any services. The municipality is saying they're going to give us boreholes."

"They're going to speak with to the mines nearby the village where they will negotiate to get the water from boreholes."

"We are saying, we have stand pipes, we have water reticulation projects here and the neighbouring wards."

"But after the water reticulation project has been concluded: no water, taps are dry." "Madibeng returned about R146-million to National Treasury."

"Now, you ask yourself: if the community needs services but you are not going to use the budget allocated to the national and provincial treasury to the municipality for services to the extent that you're giving it back to National Treasury."

"We are feeling that they municipality is not respecting us.
