Security guards arrested for stealing diesel

EAST LONDON - Two security guards have been arrested for stealing more than 5,000 litres of diesel from East London's Port Rex Power Station.

The guards were arrested while on duty.

During investigations, it was found that suspects allowed a vehicle to collect the diesel during night shifts. They were also paid in return.

The pair are expected to appear in the East London Magistrate's Court.

Eskom says investigations are underway to identify other suspects.
