DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal’s Education Department is facing a crisis.
It simply does not have enough money to cover its expenses.
But this is a problem that exists not just in KwaZulu-Natal, but across South Africa.
Several schools in KwaZulu-Natal need improvements, and natural disasters have not helped.
But the provincial education department spends over 90 percent of its budget on salaries, leaving little for other expenses.
