SOWETO - Gauteng premier Panyaza Lesufi said schools have been urged to minimise curriculum to the first week.
This is to ensure that those pupils who have not been placed are not left behind.
Pupils across Gauteng kick started their school year on 15 January, and it's an especially nervous day for families of those in grade 1 and grade 8.
Meanwhile thousands of parents are hoping to find placement for their children as the 2025 academic year begins.
