EAST LONDON - The Democratic Alliance in the Eastern Cape is calling on the provincial department of education to provide scholar transport for pupils.
The party says due to challenges with getting to school, some pupils have not attended school since the 2024 education year began.

Over a month ago, eNCA exposed the issue of children who have to walk up to 22 kilometres to get to school.
"It is now a month since schools started. Scholars are still left stranded," said DA councillor Hennie Britz.
