SEBOKENG - The scholar transport sector raised concerns about the issuing of permits in the scholar transport sector.
Their complaints fall on the grievances of e-hailing service providers who also marched to the Union Buildings over the backlog in the awarding of permits.

Gauteng Roads and Transport MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela announced the formation of a crisis committee to handle the processing and issuance of operating licences in December last year.
Despite this Diale-Tlabela affirmed that they do not want illegality among drivers because there is a backlog.
"If you have done your things properly we will find you in the system. Those who are impounded are found on many other issues so let us not use this issue as if there is a problem.
"There is no problem our law enforcement agencies are aware of who must be impounded," she said.
