HAMMANSKRAAL - Public Protector Kholeka Gcaleka says progress has been made to improve water provision at the Rooiwal Water and Sanitation Treatment Plant in Hammanskraal.
Gcaleka visited the plant to assess progress following her investigative report released last year October.
Dozens of people died in Hammanskraal last year due to a cholera outbreak caused by contaminated water.
The City of Tshwane says it has budgeted R450-million for the next three years to finish the project, which is being investigated by the SIU.

However, Hammanskraal residents remain without hope as they continue to encounter daily challenges.
The municipality is continuing to provide water through tankers, which is marred in controversy.
The city maintains the water they supply is fit for consumption.
