SA's water crisis | Mayor postpones Hammanskraal water tasting, again

JOHANNESBURG - Tshwane mayor, Nasiphi Moya, has postponed the official handover of water in Hammanskraal indefinitely. 

This comes after the city completed the first phase of its water purification project. 

Water has begun flowing from taps in parts of Hammanskraal, but people are still waiting for the city to officially give them the go-ahead to drink it, and announce the next phase.

For over two decades, the people of Hammanskraal have been fighting for clean and drinkable water.

In 2023, a cholera outbreak claimed 40 lives in Hammanskraal.
