JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance in Johannesburg says Joburg Water officials should be held to account and ensure that people receive water.
Many parts of the city have regularly been left without water.
This is said to be mostly due to the long time it takes to repair broken infrastructure which then leads to constrained reservoirs.
The party is calling for the setting up of an inter-governmental task team to deal with this crisis.
The DA's Michael Sun said, "I think this is not a political issue this is a livelihood issue. JHB water buys from Rand water and if there is no communication coming from them resident would not know what is the progress. We should receive adequate information and take it to our residents. We want to give assistance and constructive solutions to make sure that our residents don't have to suffer anymore.
