MAHIKENG - Efforts to reduce the carnage on the country's roads during the festive season don't seem to be making any progress.

In the North West, 72 crashes have been recorded since the beginning of December.
The death toll there currently stands at 51.
The province's Community Safety and Transport Management Department says most of these crashes take place between 6PM and midnight.
Tshegofatso Mothibedi, spokesperson for the North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management discussed this with eNCA.
